DDi runs every Basic Fire Fighting public class at our venue in Centurion, 99 Hornbill Avenue, Rooihuiskraal. A seat costs R890 per person, the final amount, and the class runs from 8:30am to 1pm. For a group, we come to your workplace in Centurion, Midrand or anywhere nearby. Either way it is a 4-hour, OHS Act compliant course in which everyone discharges a real extinguisher.
The Public Class at Our Venue
The venue is in Rooihuiskraal, next door to Midrand and not far off the N1; the map and directions are below and on our Centurion page. The public class suits one or two people from any company, wherever they are based. Pick a date, book and pay securely online on the public class bookings page.
Onsite in Centurion and Midrand
For a group of 5 or more, training at your workplace is usually simpler: your fire team learns on the premises it has to protect, and nobody leaves the site. We bring the training extinguishers, some of them faulty on purpose, so your team learns what to look for when it inspects its own. Request a quote with your address, the number of people and a preferred date.
Fees

What Happens in the 4 Hours
Registers and enrolment, then theory on the classes of fire, which extinguisher for which fire, and the PASS method (pull, aim, squeeze, sweep). Everyone discharges a real extinguisher; we don’t light open fires. You then inspect CO2 and dry chemical powder extinguishers, some faulty on purpose, and finish with a practical and a short theory assessment. The full outline is on the Basic Fire Fighting course page.
The Certificate
Basic Fire Fighting is OHS Act compliant training, in line with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act 85 of 1993) and the General Safety Regulations, regulation 13J (fire precautions and means of egress, 2025). The law sets no fixed validity for the certificate: your company’s internal policy sets when people refresh, and DDi recommends every year. DDi recommends 3 trained fire fighters for every 50 staff.
