DDi trains fire teams onsite at their workplace across the East Rand: Benoni, Boksburg, Kempton Park, Germiston and the towns around them. Basic Fire Fighting is a 4-hour, OHS Act compliant course with theory, a practical in which everyone discharges a real extinguisher, and an assessment. Onsite it costs from R605 per person for groups of 20 or more (R790 for 5 to 9), excl. VAT, plus travel.
East Rand Towns We Come To
- Benoni and Boksburg
- Kempton Park
- Germiston, Edenvale and Alberton
We have no venue on the East Rand. For one or two people, the public class runs at our Centurion venue, 99 Hornbill Avenue, Rooihuiskraal, from 8:30am to 1pm, and you book a seat on the public class bookings page.
Fire fighting training in Benoni
Workshops and factories in Apex, and businesses across Benoni, each have their own fire risks, and your team learns which extinguisher puts out which class of fire. We bring the training extinguishers to your premises in Benoni. Everyone discharges a real extinguisher, using the PASS method, and we don’t light open fires. The course takes 4 hours, so most sites lose only half a day. It costs the same as everywhere we train: from R605 per person for groups of 20 or more, excl. VAT, plus travel. For one or two people, the public class runs at our Centurion venue.
Fire fighting training in Kempton Park
Warehouses and freight sites around OR Tambo, Spartan and Isando hold a lot of stock under one roof, so the people on the floor need to know what to do first. Basic Fire Fighting teaches the classes of fire, the PASS method and how to inspect the extinguishers already on your walls, with some training units faulty on purpose. The course takes 4 hours, half a working day, so ask us how it can fit around your shifts. Tell us about your site when you ask for a quote, and we plan where on your premises the practical happens.
Fire fighting training in Boksburg
How many people should you train at a Boksburg site? No regulation sets a number. DDi recommends 3 trained fire fighters for every 50 staff, because they work as a team and one of them can be absent. The calculator on the Basic Fire Fighting page works it out for your headcount. On warehousing and transport sites around Jet Park and the N12, it helps to train people from each area of the site, so someone is always close to an extinguisher. We train at your premises and sign certificates on the day for everyone found competent.
Fire fighting training in Germiston
Germiston’s industrial areas, Wadeville and Harmelia among them, are full of real workplaces with real extinguishers on the walls, and we train your team on your own site. Definitive Conferencing in Harmelia is a long-standing DDi client, for training and for annual Health and Safety Audits. At your site we cover the classes of fire, the PASS method and a real discharge for everyone, then a practical and a short theory assessment. The law sets no fixed validity for the certificate; DDi recommends refreshing every year. Travel to Germiston is quoted with your training.
The Price for an East Rand Team
- Groups of 5 to 9: R790 per person, excl. VAT.
- Groups of 20 or more: R605 per person, excl. VAT.
- Fewer than 5 people: a flat rate for the group onsite.
- Travel: R550 flat up to 100 km round trip, then R5.50 per km, excl. VAT, shown on your quote.
The course price is the same in every area we train. Request a quote with your address, the number of people and a preferred date; every tier is in the prices section below.
What Your Site Needs on the Day
The practical means everyone discharges a training extinguisher, so tell us about your site when you ask for a quote and we plan where on your premises that happens. We bring the extinguishers, including some that are faulty on purpose for the inspection exercise. Send each delegate’s ID copy before the day, so certificates can be signed onsite for everyone found competent. The day runs: registers, theory on the classes of fire and the PASS method (pull, aim, squeeze, sweep), the practical, the extinguisher inspection, then a practical and a short theory assessment.
Your Certificate
Basic Fire Fighting is OHS Act compliant training, in line with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act 85 of 1993) and the General Safety Regulations, regulation 13J (fire precautions and means of egress, 2025). The law sets no fixed validity; DDi recommends refreshing every year. Work out how many people to train with the calculator on the Basic Fire Fighting page.
