For small teams and whole sites
DDi trains fire fighters onsite at their workplace in Roodepoort, Krugersdorp, Randburg and the rest of the West Rand. Basic Fire Fighting is a 4-hour, OHS Act compliant course, and everyone on it discharges a real extinguisher. A team of 5 to 9 pays R790 per person onsite, less for bigger groups, excl. VAT, plus travel. One or two people can instead join the public class at our Centurion venue for R890 each.

Fire fighting training in Roodepoort
An office in Constantia Kloof or a small workshop around Roodepoort may only need a few trained people, and that is fine. Fewer than 5 people pay a flat rate for the group onsite, or they can take seats at the public class at our Centurion venue. A bigger group from your Roodepoort site pays R790 per person for groups of 5 to 9, excl. VAT, and less as the group grows. Everyone discharges a real extinguisher in the 4 hours, and we don’t light open fires.
Fire fighting training in Krugersdorp
Krugersdorp is at the far end of the West Rand from Centurion, and a half-day course suits it: we arrive, train for 4 hours and leave you with signed certificates for everyone found competent. Sites in Chamdor and Factoria, and mining suppliers around the town, can tell us what suits their production day when they ask for a quote. We bring the training extinguishers, including some faulty on purpose for the inspection exercise. Fire fighting training in Randburg
Randburg has offices and retailers around Ferndale, with light industry in Strijdom Park, and each of them needs people who will act calmly. Basic Fire Fighting teaches that in 4 hours, and you can add Evacuation Warden training on a separate day, so the same team can plan and lead an evacuation. Tell us about your building when you ask for a quote, and we plan where on your premises the extinguisher practical happens. Competent delegates leave with signed certificates.
What It Costs by Team Size
- Fewer than 5 people: a flat rate for the group onsite, or seats in the public class at our Centurion venue, 99 Hornbill Avenue, Rooihuiskraal, at R890 each (the final amount), from 8:30am to 1pm. Book on the public class bookings page.
- 5 to 9 people: R790 per person, excl. VAT.
- 20 or more people: R605 per person, excl. VAT.
- 30 or more: ask us, bigger discounts apply.
Travel is R550 flat up to 100 km round trip, then R5.50 per km, excl. VAT, and your quote shows it for your address. Every tier and the small-group rates are in the prices section below. Request a quote.
What Your Team Practises
- The classes of fire and which extinguisher puts out which.
- The PASS method: pull, aim, squeeze, sweep.
- A real discharge: everyone uses an extinguisher, so you know there is no explosion, just a release of dry chemical powder. We don’t light open fires.
- Inspecting extinguishers: CO2 and dry chemical powder (DCP) units, some faulty on purpose.
- The assessment: a practical, then a short theory assessment.
Certificates are signed onsite at the end of the training for every delegate found competent, when we have their ID copy before the day. The law sets no fixed validity for the certificate; DDi recommends refreshing every year, and 3 trained fire fighters for every 50 staff.
